Get in the Mexican Spirit with Tasty Tequila
Where Does The Best Tequila Come From?
The best tequila, and the only real tequila, comes from Jalisco, Mexico. A liquor made outside of this area cannot legally be classified as tequila. Spirits similar to tequila crafted in nearby regions are known as mezcal. Spirit artisans in America can craft similar spirits containing agave, but are forced to go by different names.
That makes tequila a very special and unique treat for spirit enthusiasts. With every sip, you're tasting natural agave plants sourced from Mexico each time. The resulting flavors can range from sweet and fruity to a more earthy flavor depending on which areas the plants are sourced from. Tequila drinkers frequently enjoy the drink neat or served up in various margaritas.

How to Best Enjoy Your Tequila
Don't make the common mistake of shooting tequila and using a lime and salt to make it tolerable. What's worse, those shots aren't cheap, because you're abusing an excellent spirit that only comes from one place in the entire world!
Tequila is truly meant to be enjoyed like a great scotch or bourbon. If you must use a chaser of some kind, locals will use sangrita to cleanse the palate, so that you're not overpowered by the natural flavor with repeated sips. Tequila is not really meant to be used in cocktails, though it is often used in margaritas or served with seltzers.
